To all our valued members,

IT’S A GO!!!! Our Slipway will be open for recreational fishing as from 6am as from Friday, 05th June 2020.

Please refer to the attached documents and instructions below. Any disregard of Harbour and Covid-19 safety instructions will result in the transgressor being banned from using the club and facilities pending a disciplinary hearing.

PLEASE PERUSE ALL DOCUMENTS, AND COMPLETE DECLARATIONS THAT MUST BE LEFT IN THE PERSPEX POCKET MOUNTED AGAINST THE WALL NEXT TO THE LOGBOOK IN THE FOYER, FOR EACH TRIP. PERMITS MUST BE COMPLETED FOR EACH ANGLER IN ORDER TO ENTER THE HARBOUR. REFER TO POINT 1 BELOW:

Please take specific notice of the following;

  1. Each club member angler must have a completed Annexure A – Form 2 CLUB MEMBER ANGLER permit to enter the port. This is a standing permit for the duration of Level 3 and 2. If he has a non-club member as crew, he must use the 2nd form marked as Annexure A – Form 2 VISITING ANGLER which is a day permit to enter the harbour. The skipper will be responsible for issuing these permits to his crew. As required by Transnet Security, permits for non-club members must either be destroyed by the skipper at the end of the day, or kept in his possession until the next fishing trip if the same non-club member and visiting angler.
  2. All visitor anglers will still be liable for the R50 visitors fee.
  3. All boats will be levied a R50 launching fee each time a boat puts out to sea, which must be placed in an envelope and placed in the post box in the office door, over and above the visitors fees, to cover the cost of cleaning and sanitizing the ablution facilities every day as our cleaning staff are laid off due to the mandatory closure of the club bar and restaurant.
  4. The self-declaration form can be completed and signed by all the crew prior to entering the club. Alternatively, copies will be available at the log book to complete before launching. This declaration form must be left in the tray provided by the log book for a check and balance for compliance and Transnet Audit purposes. Any boat and crew found to launch without completing this form before launching, or signing out on the logbook will immediately be suspended and launching rights revoked until further notice.
  5. Please adhere to all the safety requirements as detailed in the SOP Risk Action Plan attached.
  6. Make sure to use sanitizer before entering the office foyer and bathrooms. Sanitizer bottles will be left on a restraint on the tables outside, and on a restraint in the foyer by the logbook.
  7. Keep the toilets clean as we have no staff present.
  8. The use of the fish cleaning station and boat wash bay not permitted when coming off the water to avoid crowding. Washing of boats will only be permitted under special arrangement and at a time when no crowding can occur.
  9. No consumption of alcohol will be allowed on club premises under any circumstances.
  10. We require anglers to vacate the club premises as soon as they have signed out to go fishing, and again after returning when signing back in. No congregating will be allowed under any circumstances to limit unnecessary contact and possible spread of the virus.

Hope you guys still make hay with the last bit of the Tuna and Bottom Fishing Season that is left. Tight lines to all.

Yours in angling,

Richard Donaldson
Chairman - PE Deep Sea Angling Club.
